Hospital Chaplain Jamie Kimmel will open a conversation to create a bridge of trust and comfort for those facing the stress of illness and approaching death. He will offer practical advice about how the teachings of interdependence and emptiness can be applied at an extraordinary time of life. Time will be allowed for Q & A, and discussion.

Jamie Kimmel is a practicing Zen Buddhist and a member of TLC's Board of Directors. He graduated from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley with a MA in Buddhist Studies, and is obtaining a certificate in Buddhist Chaplaincy from the Institute of Buddhist Studies. Jamie serves as a volunteer chaplain at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital in SF will soon begin a yearlong program as a Chaplain Intern at the University of California, SF. Through extensive experience as an advocate and caregiver within the healthcare setting, he is familiar with the issues one confronts when facing long term illness in and outside the hospital, and the need to communicate about it.
