Sarah C. Beasley writes, “…Preparing for death, we consider three aspects: ordinary practical details, concerns related to the body, and the mind. For Buddhists, the last is most important, being the only facet of our human existence to go with us.” Sarah will interact with participants to discover the opportunities for sustenance offered by Buddhist practice, in order to support ourselves and others during the dying process, and to live more fully.
Sarah C. Beasley has been a Vajrayana practitioner since 2000, and spent over six years in retreat under the guidance of Lama Tharchin Rinpoche. Encouraged by Lama Yeshe Wangmo & Sangye Khandro, she offers workshops exploring Buddhist and Western approaches to death & dying. An educator with over twenty years of teaching experience, she graduated with honors from Smith College and earned a Teaching Certificate from Rudolf Steiner College. Sarah assisted Lama Tharchin Rinpoche with annotating the Nyingma manual, ‘Vajrasattva Ceremony for the Dead’, a text by HH Dudjom Rinpoche and the topic of TLC’s current film series.
